Empties #3

L'Oreal EverPure Shampoo and Conditioner Duo
I can't talk highly enough about this duo. I reviewed these back in July here. I dye my hair red and it fades so fast! I felt like this duo helped the colour last just that extra bit longer. I'm not using these guys at the mo, but I'll be buying them as soon as I've finished my current stuff.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Cherry
Another hair product. I don't really need to go about this, everyone loves Batiste! I go through these sprays shamefully quickly! I use it underneath hairspray to keep my fringe in place and then to freshen up throughout the day. This is by far my favourite smell of the Batiste family and I buy it again and again.

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Smoothing Resurfacing Primer
I always tend to skip priming my skin, even though I have quite a few primers in my make-up collection. I've been using up all my random pots and tubes. This is one of my favourite ones. I like the foamy texture and the slight pink tint which suits me.

Garnier Soothing Cleansing Lotion
I already have two back-ups of this, I love it so much. I use it to take off all my make-up at the end of the day (including my mascara) with a cotton pad or a muslin cloth. It goes so well with my toner as well so its a keeper! It leaves my skin with a nice sheen and in the morning my face feels really moisturised and plump.

Spotlight 1: My Favourite Make-up Brushes

High Street Edition
eyeshadow brush, slanted brush, foundation brush, blusher brush. priced between £8-£12

Most of my make-up brushes are high street. I'll only buy high-end brushes for foundation, but I think high-street eye and cheek brushes work just as well as the pricey versions.

I have brushes from elf, Cosmo and no7, but my favourites are from The Body Shop. The picture above is just a small collection on the brushes I own as some are duplicates and I didn't really want to do a 'collection' post. I like The Body Shop as a whole because of it's cruelty free message (and because everything smells so yummy!) Their brushes are obviously vegan and they're definitely the best vegan brushes I've tried. They apply the product really well, and more importantly, they clean really easily.

The blusher brush is my favourite (I have three of these!) because it's the perfect size for my cheek bone and it applies product like a dream. I can use this to contour as well because its pinched. I love the slanted brush for eyeliner, but I also use one to fill in my eyebrows.

The only downside to my collection is the foundation brush. I prefer applying my liquid foundation with a stippling brush or a buffing brush but otherwise I highly recommend these brushes.

Clinique High Lengths Mascara

I got this mini mascara when Clinique did the mascara swap a few weeks ago.
I chose this one purely for the 'willow' brush.

I actually really like this mascara. It doesn't get all claggy and clumpy on my lashes, and leaves a natural effect. There are a few reviews on the Clinique website that disagree with this. It really is down to application. I found that I had to be patient the first few times I applied it because I was getting used to the odd angle of the brush, but now I've got it I really like it!!
If you want big lashes for a night out, this isn't really for you but I really like it as my day to day mascara.
It retails at £16.

Topshop Makeup

I posted a picture of my Topshop envelope on my Instagram (charcassidy) last week.

l-r: Lipstick in Powder Room (£7), Matte Finish Moisturising Lipstick in Whimsical (£8).

Powder Room is a powdery pink colour which is so easy to wear. I've wanted to try their lipstick pencils for ages! I'm really happy with my purchase.
Whimsical is described online as a 'pinky nude' but on me it looks more of an orangey nude. I'm looking forward to wearing this as I don't have much orange in my make-up collection (I only have Saffron eyeshadow by MAC).

Do you have any Topshop make-up?
What should I buy next?

Revlon Lip Butters

l-r: Candy Apple, Sweet Tart, Peach Parfait

I've wanted these for ages! I've seen tonnes of reviews since their launch in the US last and they definitely didn't disappoint.

The formula is a lot thicker than I thought it was going to be. Revlon describe the texture as a buttery balm, which makes them more long lasting and moisturising than a regular balm.
The colour pay-off is brilliant as well.
I don't really have anything bad to say about this product!

SLEEK Pout Polish

I've been looking for a tinted lip moisturiser for a while. I know a lot of people use the pink Vaseline one, but I don't like the scent. I've heard a lot of good things about the Sleek ones, so I wanted to check them out.
I picked up Peach Perfection because it's a little different to the lip colours I've had before.
I really like this product. I've only had it for just over a week, and I can already feel a difference in the condition of my lips. Over winter, I always have chapped lips, so this is a saviour!

NEW IN - e.l.f

This is a really crummy picture of what I bought from e.l.f this week.
(I lost my camera charger, and had to use this really old camera in unnatural light, so forgive me!)
I absolutely love this brand because it's so cheap! everything in this picture cost £8.

I've ordered something else from elf (this eyeshadow pallet in everyday basics), which should be coming in the next few days.

Sorry for the lack of posts, I am kinda in-between cameras and trying to find the perfect light in my flat to do OOTD posts etc. Please be patient with me, I'l get there.

January Wish List

- I've never really been that 'into' make-up. I've always worn it, but basically just had the minimum products, never really mixing up my look. Recently though, I've got heavily into youtube and make-up haul/tutorial videos and now I've got a massive craving for MAC shadows. So a lot of my wish list this month are MAC products. I won't bore you with the whole list.

- I've also been on a mission for the past month to find some camel/bronze-y coloured casual trousers. I thought I found the perfect pair in the ASOS sale last week (I was going to link a picture but they're not online anymore) but they were just horrible material and cut. I was kinda gutted about that because they were Mango, so I was expecting good quality. Back to the drawing board.

Just a little list this month (so far). :)
